Sounds Sublime - Music for the Floating City

Music for the Floating City
This Venice concert was the second of Sounds Sublime’s Italian Cities concert series - and it was a sumptuous treat of elegance and vocal beauty. Familiar composers such as Vivaldi and Monteverdi rub shoulders with less well-known composers including Grandi, Marcello, Lotti, and more. These are composers who worked in Venice, and saw their works performed in that beautiful city where the heavens meet the sea. Venice is herself a city whose name is a byword for beauty and romance - and the exquisite music, both secular and sacred, written for Venetian audiences, encapsulates to the full the elegance and glories such a discerning audience expected.
Sounds Sublime were joined in this concert by special guest, soprano Sian Prior.

Sounds Sublime - Music for the Eternal City

Music for the Eternal City
This Roman concert was first up in Sounds Sublime’s Italian Cities concert series - and what a glorious banquet of music was indeed composed and performed in baroque Rome! Prepare to be utterly enraptured by the delicious solos, duets and trios composed by such great composers as Handel, Carissimi, Landi, Scarlatti, D'India, Vivaldi, Sances, Bononchini, Caldara, Rossi, Cesti, and Frescobaldi. All of these either passed through Rome or worked in Rome, and composed vocal works of great beauty while there... music which aptly captures the very heart of this great city of classic history.
Sounds Sublime were joined in this concert by special guest, soprano Sian Prior.

The brilliant harpsichordist Elizabeth Anderson accompanied the singers to create a delightful evocation of baroque Rome.
